Opelousas– A private service and burial will be held for Franklin Courville who entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at his residence in Opelousas surrounded by his loving family at the age of 88.
Franklin served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Opelousas where he served a term as State President, The American Legion and The 40&8 club. Franklin loved spending time with family, he enjoyed BBQ’ing and sipping on a beer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Franklin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Verona Courville of Opelousas; sons, Mark Courville and wife, Stacey of Lafayette, David Courville and wife, Mary of Lafayette; daughter, Annette Lemoine of Lafayette; grandchildren, Jackson Courville of New Orleans, Olivia Courville of Lafayette and Beth Yates of Long Beach, CA.
Franklin is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Marie Courville; brother, Darrison Courville; and grandson, Nicolas Courville.
In lieu of flowers donations the family request donations be made to the Elks National Foundation (https://www.elks.org/enf/) in Franklin’s memory.
