Opelousas - Memorial Service will be held for Frank James “Frankie” Diesi, II on Sunday May 23, 2021 at 2:30 PM at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the service. Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM with the Rosary beginning at 2:00 PM and service immediately following.

Born June 22, 1955 in Lafayette, Frankie left his earthly life on Saturday May 15, 2021 at his home. He was a 1973 graduate of Opelousas Catholic. Frankie lived a full life and loved to travel. From the deserts of Saudi Arabia to the island of St. Croix (driving a jeep on the left side of the road), from Lake Tahoe, the mountains of Colorado or to the white sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. Everywhere he went, he was more than prepared for what was needed but nonetheless, it somehow came in handy. His love for music was undeniable. For those close to him, they could see the talent and passion he had and it was played and sung from his heart and soul. When he was not playing the piano, guitar or singing, he was talking about amazing musicians he admired most. His humor was not to be forgotten. Watching him talk to himself and laugh was humorous in itself. This life was his to live. He lived it without apology. Frankie is “One of a Kind”.

Frankie served in the United States Air Force for two years, then transferred to the Marine Reserves for 4 years. He was President of Diesi Development, LLC and Vice-President of Little Capital of Louisiana, Inc. Frankie was a devout Catholic who served as Usher, Eucharistic Minister and Lector at Our lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, LA.

He is survived by his 3 Daughters, Francis “Michelle” Diesi Ragusa (husband Lucas Ragusa) of Gonzales, Kelli Lynn Diesi Kleinpeter (husband Eric Kleinpeter) of Baton Rouge and Leslie Marie Diesi Desselle (husband Leo Desselle, IV) of Baton Rouge. Sister, Lainy Diesi of Opelousas, brothers Tommy Diesi of Breaux Bridge and Joey Diesi (Wife Melinda Diesi) of Opelousas. 5 beautiful Grandchildren, Sadie Michelle and Brenton John Ragusa, Leo Paul Desselle, V, Landry Marie Desselle & Liv James Desselle and 3 step-grandchildren, Kit Eric Kleinpeter, Austin Joseph Kleinpeter and Lily Marie Kleinpeter of Baton Rouge. Step-Mother Iris Roy Diesi, Step-Siblings, Wayne Benson (wife Kathy Benson), Layne Cormier, Bridget Benson and Brent Benson (Wife Robin Benson) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Nancy Huval Diesi, his loving parents Salvador Lawrence Diesi and Betty Musgrove Diesi, his brothers, David Diesi and Sal Diesi, Jr., Grandparents, Frank James Diesi, Marie Ledoux Diesi, Rufus Cecil Musgrove and Elaine Reeves Musgrove.
