Frank Chachere

Prairie Ronde Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Frank McLeod Chachere will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel in Prairie Ronde.
Frank McLeod Chachere, age 66, passed away at his home in the Prairie Ronde community at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
Frank was a unique individual who possessed an innate sense of humor. He was affectionately known as the old man and the Mayor of Prairie Ronde by his friends in the New Iberia Krewe of Andalusia. He had been in the car business for the last thirty years and at the time of his death was a wholesale broker for Dons Wholesale in Lafayette, LA. He served in the Vietnam War while in the Navy.
Frank was also a loving husband to his wife of 28 years, Priscilla Darbonne Chachere, a loving father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be dearly missed by the many lives he touched because he was a gentle, kind, and loving man.
Though Franks journey on this earth is over, he has been granted eternal life. According to his wishes, services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014. After the services, a Celebration of Life will be held at their home at 687 Heidi B. Road, Opelousas, LA, 70570.
Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Darbonne Chachere of Prairie Ronde two sons, Christopher Wayne Chachere and fianc, Helga Colb of Jacksonville, FL and Yorick Blake Chachere of New Iberia one stepson, Paul Clint Carriere of Houston, TX one daughter, Nicole Chachere David and husband, John of New Iberia one daughterinlaw, Tara Chachere of Erath and two grandchildren, Cody McLeod David and Hannah Claire David, both of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Yorick Chachere and Cora McLeod Chachere.
