Opelousas - A Rosary Service for Frances Wilma Breaux will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021, in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home. Deacon Ulysse Joubert will conduct the service. A private burial will be held at Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum at a later date.
Ms. Breaux entered into eternal rest on February 3, 2021 at the age of 100, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas.
Upon graduation from business school in Texas she joined the United States Diplomatic Corp as a secretary to a diplomat. Upon retirement she worked for Sandoz-Sandoz-Schiff Attorneys at Law and Lou Anna Foods. She resided at C’est La Vie in Opelousas and Courtyard Manor in Lafayette and was a current resident of Prompt Succor Nursing Home. She loved animals especially her cat, Minou. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her special niece, Maeva (Anthony) Vallet of New Roads, LA; a special great-niece, Myra (Michael) Ortego of Opelousas; a special friend Mary Ann (William) Layssard of Opelousas; and a host of great-great nieces and nephews; and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Pierre Breaux and Mary Lucia Hargroder Breaux; brother, Emery Breaux; sisters, Marie Lillie Harmon, Marguerite Ella Savoy and Iris Mae Lemoine.
The family would like to thank Prompt Succor Nursing Home staff especially, Sr. Charlotte Lebouef, Sandra Jackson and Katoria Andrus for the love and care they showed to Ms. Breaux and their family.
