Frances Bordelon

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial for Frances Duhon Bordelon will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2021, at the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Fr. Neil Pettit will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Frances, age 81, died at her home surrounded by her family. Frances was born in Opelousas, LA, to Curley J. Duhon and Laurence Simon Duhon. She graduated from the Academy of the Immaculate Conception now Opelousas Catholic in 1957. She then attended and graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, Now UL, in 1961. Frances taught school in St. Bernard Parish and St. Landry Parish for several years. She married Richard Bordelon in 1964 and was a mother of two children. Her daughter, Julie Bordelon Clayton and husband, Jeffery, son, Richard Andre Bordelon and wife, Cecelia. She as the grandmother of seven grandchildren, Seth Bordelon, Shelby Boudreaux, Nicholas, Benjamin, Abigail, Alex, and Ava Clayton. Also, three great grandchildren, Aubrey, Averie and Ethan. She has one sister, Clarisse Duhe of Prairieville, LA.

She was preceded, in death by her husband, Richard Bordelon, her parents, C.J. and Laurence Simon Duhon and one sister, Ruth Duhon Incaprera.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Visitation will reopen on Monday, July 12, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
