Florence Bergeron

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Devillier Bergeron, age 89, were held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 23, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Interment followed in the St. Leo Mausoleum. Father Ken Domingue will officiate the services.
Mrs. Florence was a native of Leonville, and was a longtime resident of Arnaudville. She passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville, LA, surrounded by her family.
Survivors include her children: Clarence Bergeron and wife, Lucie of Opelousas Calvin Bergeron and wife, Anna of Covington, LA Randy Bergeron and wife, Mary of Opelousas Janell Billeaudeau and husband, Gregg of Opelousas and Sheila Bergeron of Opelousas daughterinlaw, Dorothy Landry Bergeron of Pineville seventeen grandchildren, thirty eight greatgrandchildren and five greatgreatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oras Bergeron, her parents, John and Corrine Stelly Devillier son, Alvin Antoine Bergeron daughter, Diane Hebert soninlaw, Darold Hebert grandchild, Summer Monique Bergeron sister, Marie Kidder, and brother, Harold Devillier.
Visiting hours were observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, December 22, 2011, from 4 PM until 10:00 PM. On Friday, visitation continued in the funeral home from 8 AM until 2:30 PM.
A rosary service washeld Thursday evening at 7:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel.
