Felix Joseph Olivier, Sr.
Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Felix J. Olivier, Sr., age 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2008 in the First United Pentecostal Church in Opelousas, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.
The services will be conducted by Brother Alan Spence and Brother Eldon Reeves.
Mr. Olivier was a native of Patterson and resident of Opelousas. He died on Friday, April 11, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. at LTAC of Acadiana.
He worked for Survey Boats of Patterson as a Boat Captain for 20 years. He also worked for Mobil Oil Company. He was a very, very avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed deer hunting. He was a member of Darbonne Hunting Club for many years. He served his country in World War II as a member of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed cooking catfish for his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Nelma Darbonne Olivier of Opelousas; one son, Felix Olivier, Jr. of Patterson; one daughter, Nelma Fay Ledoux and husband Lynn of Palmetto; two sisters, Theresa Moore and husband Buster of Ruth, Ms., and Margaret Otto of Bayou Vista, LA; five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Mr. Olivier was preceded in death by his parents; James Olivier and Enite Suire Olivier; his 1st wife, Betty Vining Olivier; one great-grandchild, Macie Joubert Ledoux.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, April 13, 2008, from 1:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.
