Faune Futral

Port Barre- A Memorial Service will be held for Faune Ruppe Futral on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Port Barre; visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Ross Genger will conduct the service.

Faune Ruppe Futral, a native of Oakley, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 30, 2022, surrounded by her loving family and caregivers, at the age of 105.

Faune is survived by her daughter, Ellyn Nixon and husband, John of Las Vegas, Nevada; son, John Futral, Jr. and wife, Lillie of Baton Rouge; grandson, Allan Futral and wife, Deonna of Walker; granddaughter, Michelle Futral Richmond and husband, Charley of Denham Springs; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Savannah, Brianna, Devin, Brett, Cade and Tristan. Faune is also survived by her sister, Maysel Vogler and husband, Vic of Monument, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Faune was preceded in death by her husband, John Futral, Sr.; her parents, Lawrence and Ella Gunckel Ruppe; sister, Muriel Harrison; and brothers, Kenneth and Melvane Ruppe.

Faune was a dedicated member of the Port Barre United Methodist Church for 73 years and a longtime volunteer at Opelousas General.

Faune’s family wishes to offer their appreciation and gratitude to longtime family friend, Joe Credeur, and to her faithful caregivers for their love and devotion, as well as to the staff of Bridgeway Hospice.
