Opelousas- A Funeral Service will be held for, Evelyn Lucas, on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

Evelyn, age 86, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Senior Village Nursing Home. Evelyn will be greatly missed by her family and friends who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Benoit of Carencro, and Mary Ellen Broussard of Opelousas; brothers, Clarence Stephens of Opelousas, J.P. Stephens of Bunkie; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Jackson Lucas; parents Pierre and Laurence Stephens; son, Fred Bennett Lucas; and brother, Ray Stephens.

The family requests visitation be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
