Eva Lea Leger

Port Barre Funeral Services for Eva Lea Leger, age 58, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Old Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre. Father Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass.
Eva Lea was a longtime residence of Port Barre. She died on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 10:15 a.m. in the Opelousas General Health System.
She enjoyed cooking, getting together with friends and family, gardening and sewing. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her loving husband of many years, James Carey Leger, Sr. of Port Barre one son, James Carey Leger, Jr. and wife, Cegie of Port Barre one daughter, Rayiona Leger Lanclos of Arnaudville one brother, Willie Galloway and wife, Laura of Plaisance two sisters: Sheila Estilette of Turkey Creek and Vanessa Sharp and husband, Larry of Turkey Creek four grandchildren: Anthony Michael Lanclos, Jr. Angie Marie Lanclos, Kayne Michael Leger, and Jolie Renee Leger and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents: Dewitt Lurton Galloway and Hilda Marie Sonnier and her soninlaw, Anthony Michael Lanclos, Sr.
Deacon Mitch Hebert will recite the rosary service on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Sunday, May 2, 2010, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with an all night wake until time of service on Monday.
