Opelousas - Funeral services for Eva Richard Lalonde, age 88, will be held at 10:00am. Tuesday, October 13, 2009, in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Leo Mausoleum, Leonville, La. Father Paul Bienvenu will conduct the services.

Mrs. Eva was born in Church Point, and was a long time resident of Opelousas. She died on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Opelousas General Health System, in Opelousas, LA.

Mrs. Eva was a retired Nursery Owner and a member of the Our Lady of Mercy Alter Society.

Mrs. Eva is survived by one son Charles C. Lalonde and wife Glenda Quebedeaux Lalonde of Dallas, TX; daughter, Brenda Faye Montelaro and husband Larry of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Camille Lalonde; parents, Mentor and Dolphine Leger Richard, four sisters and one brother.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home on Monday, October 12, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00pm. and on Tuesday from 8:00am until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Monday evening at 7:00pm.
