Opelousas Funeral services for Eula S. Stelly, age 76, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011, in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery.
Father Paul Bienvenu will be the celebrant for the Mass.
Eula loved gardening, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren
were her life. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her by her children Gayle Arceneaux and husband, Wayne of Opelousas, Judi Dugas and husband, Ken of Lafayette, Arlene Oncale and husband, Patrick of Prairieville, LA., and Toni Pitre and husband, Boisy of Opelousas, brother
Ronald Stanford of Opelousas, sisters Bertrella Ledoux of Eunice, Dorthy Vidrine, of TX., Betty Brown and husband, Allen of Slidell, LA., Cecile Vidrine of Port Allen, Novella Janies and husband, Paul of Sugarland TX., and Louella Ardoin and husband, Bob of Vidrine, LA., ten grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
Preceded by her parents Marion and Edna Olivier Stanford, her husband Joseph
Ervin Stelly, daughter Florence Marie Stelly, brother Marian Stanford Jr.
Pallbearers, will be Wayne Arceneaux, Boisy Pitre, Ken Dugas, Joey Oncale,
Anthony Raush, Ben Leger.
Honorary Pallbearers, Alex Alcocer and Hunter Godeaux.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Nurses and Doctors at Terrbone General Hospital for their love and care during a most difficult time. Also special thanks to Dr. Richard Harmon and his Staff.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening in the Funeral Home.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home, on Saturday, May 7, 2011, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will reopen on Sunday May 8, 2011 at 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and will reopen on Monday morning May 9, 2011 at 9 a.m. until time of service at
12:30 p.m.
