Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Eugenia Garner Tujague 88, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2008, at LA Memorial United Methodist Church of Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas.

Rev. Pam Roy will conduct the service.

Mrs. Tujague was born in Naborton, LA; and was a resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Tujague graduated with a Bachelor of Science from SLI in 1941 with a Home Economics Degree. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a member of the Retired State Family Services Organization. She was the case Supervisor with the Department of Family Services until her retirement.

Mrs. Tujague loved three things in life: her family, friends, and profession. All of those things brought her much joy. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, John Lee Tujague, Jr. and wife, Janie Prather Tujague of Opelousas; daughter, Kathy Tujague Elmore of Lafayette; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Tujague, Sr.; her parents: Marvin O. Garner and Maude Spencer Garner; one brother, Marvin E. Garner; and one sister, Bernice McNatt.

Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, October 5, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Monday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.
