Ethel Emonet

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at St. Landry Catholic Church, for Ethel Emonet, age 92 who passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at St. Landry Extended Care. Rite of Committal and interment followed in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Father Jim Brady will celebrate the Mass Service.

Ethel was a longtime resident of Opelousas. She enjoyed working in her garden, most of all her grandchildren were her world. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was know to Aunt Bay to many nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her son, Ronnie Emonet and his wife, Marcia of Opelousas, grandchildren, Ronnie Emonet and wife, Carrie of Metaire, Kristin and his wife, Haley of Opelousas, Eric and his wife, Blaire of Grand Coteau, and Lauri Posey and her husband, Ben of Sunset, and 12 great grandchildren, sister, Evelyn McCormick, her brother, Frank Jennings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Paul Emonet, brothers, Ralph Jennings, Sr., and Clem Arceneaux, sisters, Anna Hollier and Cora Dekerlegand.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, August 29, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Emonet, Jr., Kristin Emonet, Eric Emonet, Ben Posey, Terry Jennings, R.J. Jennings, honorary pallbearers will be Chris Broussard, and Jason Willingham.

A special thanks to Dr. Lewis Nix, Prompt Succor Nursing Home, and LPAC at Doctors Hospital.
