Esther Faul
Opelousas Funeral services for Esther Faul, age 85, will be held at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bridget Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Bridget Cemetery.

Esther was a native of Church Point, and a long time resident of Lawtell.
As the matriarch of her family, Esther Faul led by example. During her time at Prudhommes she was known for her delicious Cajun cooking and welcomed people in all walks of life. Never judging, she was compassionate and generous to all those who crossed her path.
Thought by some outsiders to be shy, she was known by her family to have a larger than life personality, which belied her short statue. Above all else, she valued family, hard work, and loyalty and readily set this example for her children and grandchildren.
For those of us who were honored to have known her personally, her warm spirit, colorful sense of humor, and great strength will live on through us for generations.
Survivors include her children Blaine Faul of Lawtell, Anna Lee Fontenot of Baton Rouge, Elverna Simonne Daigle and husband, Jackie of Scott, Patricia Faul of Sea Breeze, Texas, Judy Marie Savoy and husband, Johnny of Baton Rouge, Myrina Foster and husband, Jude of Opelousas, Linda Goudeaux and husband, Gilbert of Swords, Barbara Dupre and husband, Ken of Pensacola FL, Deborah Faul of Lawtell, sisters, Betty Stewart, Clara Quiban, brother, Milton Comeaux, thirty two grandchildren, fourty eight great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alcee and Elizabeth
