Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Erman L. Richard, age 84, will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. The Reverend Angelo Cremaldi will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial.

A native of Church Point and a resident of Opelousas, Mr. Richard passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp where he proudly served his country during World War II on the European front. He was the owner and founder of Richard Candy Company until his retirement in 1985. He was also a proud member of the V.F.W and the American Legion of Opelousas.

Survivors include his son, Donald J. Richard of Opelousas; brother, Aldon J. Danny Richard and wife Velma of Opelousas; two sisters, Mrs. Earline Rose wife of E.C. Buddy Rose of New Iberia and Mrs. Catherine Williford of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Charles Keith Richard, Jr. of Opelousas, Adrienne H. Bouque and husband Luke of Lafayette, Alyse S. Richard of Baton Rouge and Alexis G. Richard of New York, N.Y.

Mr. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Grace Godeau Richard; parents, Leonce and Dula Thibodeaux Richard and son, Charles Keith Richard.

Visiting hours will be observed from 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas and will re-open on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until service time.

A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
