Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Eric Nezat, age 93, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2008, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, followed by interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington. The Reverend Robert Romero will celebrate the Mass.

Mr. Nezat was born in Opelousas spent his whole life working and living here. He passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2008, at Opelousas General Health Systems.

Mr. Nezat was an electrician by trade and worked for Tide Water Oil Company and also Getty Oil Company. Mr. Nezat also worked at Eula Savoie's Sausage Wholesale Company. He was a member of the National Riflemans Association, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mr. Nezat will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include of Mr. Nezat include a host of nieces and nephew and also a host of very close friends. Mr. Nezat had a very close and faithful companion, his old dog Sam.

Mr. Nezat was preceded in death by his wife: Onie Martin Nezat; parents, J. D. and Elizabeth Perry Nezat; and sister, Hilma Nezat Ray

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, June 21, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

Rev. Robert Romeo will pray the rosary service at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
