Eric Lavergne

LAWTELL- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Eric James Lavergne on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. Fr. Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass.

Eric, age 28, a resident of Church Point, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Eric is survived by his wife, Bracquel Simon Lavergne; children, Averiana, Paisley, Kooper and Konnor; father, Kermit Lavergne; mother, Angelina F. Fontenot (Steve); sisters, Lynn Lavergne Miller (Josh), Eve Lavergne Sonnier (Dusty) and Amy Lavergne Bourgeois (Chet); grandparents, Daniel Urias and Marilyn Fowles; nieces and nephews, Caylee Lavergne, Jade Richard, Carter Lavergne, Wyatt Lavergne, Cayden Lavergne, Jax Bourgeois and Case Sonnier.

Eric is preceded in death by his son, Maverick Lavergne; grandparents, Pearl Olivier Lavergne, Wilbert J. Lavergne; step-grandparents, Esther Urias and Jim Fowles; uncles, Wilbert Lavergne, Jr. and Nick Vanderpas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kermit Lavergne, Josh Miller, Dusty Sonnier, Devin Vice, Bryce Hargroder, Nathan Thompson and Frankie Thompson. Honorary pallbearer will be Carter Lavergne.
