KAPLAN-Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 12:30 p.m. in the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church honoring the life of Mrs. Enite H. Guidry, age 93. Interment followed in the Breaux Cemetery in Kaplan, LA. Father F. David Broussard celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial.
Mrs. Guidry was the former Enite Hardy and was a native of Kaplan. She was a longtime resident of Marrero, LA, and died on Thursday, May 21, 2009, due to complications to Alzheimers disease at Wynhoven Health Care Center in Marrero, LA.
She was born in Kaplan, Louisiana, on August 4, 1915. She grew up as one of sixteen children in Vermilion Parish. She was married, then moved to Marrero where she settled and reared her family. She worked for the school system as a cafeteria worker for many years. She was also a homemaker and seamstress, who enjoyed cooking and canning. She was an avid gardener who took pleasure in pulling weeds, mowing the lawn, and tending her vegetable garden and flowers.
Her faith was very important to her and she continued to attend church regularly until her health no longer allowed her to participate. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marrero, LA. She held highly cherished and important value of life was her love for her God, faith, and family.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, who were like her own grandchildren. She enjoyed visits from her family especially those from the country. Enite was a special lady who was loved by all will be greatly missed.
PLeaving to cherish her memory is one daughter, Margaret Jeanette Pertuit and husband, Wayne of Marrero; and one sister, Evia Hardy of Kaplan. Grateful for having shared Enites life are her grandchildren: Tod A. Pertuit of Marrero; and Jan P. Landry and husband, Wilbert Hop Landry, Jr. of Lafitte; and three great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tiffany, and Dylan Landry, all of Lafitte. Her godchild and nephew, Marion Mire and wife, Beverly of Kaplan; two special nieces: Linda Camnetar and husband, Eddie of Belle Chasse; and Gail Connor and husband, Paul of Kaplan.
