Port Barre--A grave side service will be for Emma Lalonde Stelly on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre. A visitation will held at 1:00 p.m. until time of service in he Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Port Barre.

Emma, born on August 12, 1930, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, at the Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas. Emma, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, touched the lives of many through her kindness and vibrant spirit.

Throughout her life, Emma found immense joy in reading and engaging in word puzzles, which not only entertained her but also kept her mind sharp and agile. Her passion for literature and language was evident in her conversations and the stories she shared with her loved ones.

Emma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Camille Stelly, as well as her son, James Stelly. She is also mourned by the loss of her parents, Austin and Rose Lalonde, and her siblings: Helen Artigue, Loretta Cortez, Jeanie Prudhomme, Austin Lalonde, Jr., Raymond Lalonde, Edmond Lalonde, Wilbert Lalonde, and Danny Lalonde. Their memories and legacies remain an indelible part of her story.

Emma is survived by her devoted sisters, Vergie Aden and Betty Andrus, and her treasured grandchildren: Robbie, Chris, Tracy, and Yvonne. Each of them holds a special place in their hearts for Emma, who was a source of love, wisdom, and encouragement throughout their lives.

As we remember Emma Lee Lalonde, we celebrate her life of resilience, love, and commitment to her family and friends. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her, reminding us of the power of compassion and the joy of shared moments.
