Emile Shaheen, Jr.

OpelousasFuneral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas for Mr. Emile Joseph Shaheen, Jr., known to many as Bobby. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum Cemetery. Rev. Tony Lanclos will officiate the services.
Bobby was a native of Donaldsonville and longtime resident of Opelousas, LA. He passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Opelousas General Health System at the age of 72.
He was retired from the U. S. Army after serving for 21 years. He was a Veteran who proudly served his country. After retirement from the military, he began his career with a degree from Baylor University in Medical Lab Technology. He worked in the lab at Doctors Hospital for 17 years. He enjoyed being outdoors and hunting. As a pastime, he would collect guns. He looked forward to his gatherings with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Pamela Vidrine Shaheen three sons, Damian Emile Shaheen and wife, Angie Brock Shaheen and wife, Nicole and Joshua Roy Shaheen and wife, Rachael and one daughter, Brittany Lanclos and husband, Tory all of Opelousas three brothers, Joe Shaheen of New Orleans Gary Shaheen of Thibodaux and Raymond Shaheen of Gonzales nine grandchildren, Gabriel, Jade, Kirsten, Soleil, Zoe, Asiah, Paegan, Thorne, and Colt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile Joseph Shaheen, Sr. and Edith Granier Shaheen.
Pallbearers will be Damian Shaheen, Brock Shaheen, Joshua Shaheen, Tory Lanclos, Gabriel Shaheen, and Frank Johnson. Honorary pallbearer will be Colt Shaheen.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, September 30, 2013, from 1 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.
On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
