Elta Darbonne

Opelousas – A Funeral Service will be held for Ms. Elta Darbonne on Monday, March 29, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service; the rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the service. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery in Lawtell.

Elta entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the age of 80, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her family.

Elta enjoyed sewing by hand and created many outfits for her family in her early years. She also liked to paint and color. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pierre and Aledia Darbonne; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Deville, Chad Deville, Eldon Leger, Brandon Deville, Toby Castille and Michael Henry, Jr.
