Grand Coteau A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, LA, for Mrs. Elsie Mae Jolivette Thomas. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery.

The Gift bearers for the Mass will be Alma Charles, Irma Gradnigo, and Tyranesha Joubert.

Elsie was a native of New Iberia and longtime resident of Carencro. She passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 68. She will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Thomas of Carencro four brothers, Joseph Gerald Jolivette of Opelousas Harold Jolivette of Grand Coteau Johnny Jolivette and Michael Jolivette, both of Sunset five sisters, Alma Charles and Thelma Charles, both of Grand Coteau Irma Gradnigo of Leonville Carolyn Jolivette and Elsie Jane Colomb, both of Lafayette and one halfbrother, Wilson Jolivette of Lafayette. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Antoine Jolivette and Lorena Senegal Jolivette.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Grand Coteau on Saturday, December 15, 2012, from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center and Amedisys Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Ansinneo Charles, David Charles, John Gradnigo, Jr., Joseph Thomas, Michael Jolivette, and Rodney Charles. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Jolivette, Harold Jolivette, Johnny Jolivette, and Damien Marks.
