Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Patin Jennings, age 86, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, in the First Baptist Church of Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.
Rev. Perry Hubbs will officiate the services.
Elsie was a native of the St. Landry, LA and was a longtime resident of Opelousas. She died on Sunday, February 20, 2011, at Opelousas General Health System. She was a Manager and Consultant for Tupperware for over 20 years.
She enjoyed spending time visiting and cooking with her family and friends. She was a wonderful and loving wife of 64 years, and a very devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend, grandmother, and greatgrandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce Jennings of Opelousas one son, Connie Tatman and wife, Betty Bellard Tatman of Opelousas two daughters: Dianne Jennings of Lafayette and Carmen Denise Speyrer of Opelousas three grandchildren: Chantel Speyrer and fiance, Rick Dalton of Carencro Shane Tatman and wife, Kathy Langlois Tatman of Opelousas and Michelle Tatman Miller and husband, Jude of Opelousas and three greatgrandchildren: Brooke Tatman, Kiley Tatman, and Zachary Miller. She was also survived by her beloved dog, Killer.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Anna Barton Patin brother, Rodney Patin and sister, Zilphia Patin Webb.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
