Grand CoteauA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013, at the St. Charles Catholic Church for Elizabeth Cherie Barry Brown. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Fr. Steve Kimmons S.J. and Fr. James Lambert will concelebrate the Mass.
Cherie was a lifelong resident of Sunset. She passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the age of 59. She loved reading, music, the beach, drawing, tending to her flower beds, studying history, baking and taking care of her family and others. She was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend who would do anything for anyone at the drop of a hat. She was selfless and charitable in all aspects of her life and her sense of humor kept everyone laughing. She left a lasting impression on everyone she crossed paths with. She will be deeply missed by every one who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Ronnie Brown, her children, Ronald Warren Brown, II, William Willis Brown, and Katherine Elizabeth Brown, her mother, Ada Delahoussaye Barry all of Sunset, her sister, Susan Ann Reed and husband, Wayne, nieces Tyler, Rebecca and Samantha Reed of Spring TX, sisterinlaw, Rebecca Karavatakis, nephew and niece George and Trudy Karavatakis, of Lafayette, sisterinlaw Sharron Mayers and husband Hans Fritz, and nephew and niece Jonathan and Jennifer Mayers, of Baton Rouge.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Willie Barry, and her nephew, Pete Karavatakis.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Warren Brown, II, William Willis Brown, Roland Delahoussaye, Wayne Reed, Tommy Barry, and Dwight Sibille.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Grand Coteau on Thursday, November 21, 2013, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and will reopen on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Ignatius School, St. Judes Childrens Hospital, and The Academy of the Sacred Heart, Grand Coteau.
