Eliza Lejeune

Opelousas-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Eliza Dukes LeJeune, at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the LeJeune Family Cemetery in Mallet, LA. Father Greg Semin will celebrate the Mass.

Eliza was a native and longtime resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Senior Village Nursing Home. At the age of 76. Eliza loved being a homemaker, baby sitting at the First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs Church. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grand mother she will be sadly miss by all.

Survivors include her children, Dovice LeJeune, Jr., and his fiancé, Angel Allemand of Opelousas, Annette Fitzgerald and her husband, Gary of Melville, Susie Crawford of Georgia, and Odelia LeJeune of Sorrento, LA., brother, Judd Dukes of Livonia, host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dovice LeJeune, Sr., her parents, James and Mary Herron Dukes, daughter, Debra Aucoin, sons, Onzemme LeJeune and Wilfred LeJeune, Jr., sisters, Betty Wyble, Bertha Higdon, Gladys Lovette, and Irene Rouse.

The visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2015, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Friday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening in the funeral home.
