Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Elaine Spears, 91, will be held at

2: 00 PM on Sunday, September 9, 2007, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas, followed by interment in the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Richard, LA. Reverend Perry Hubbs will officiate the services.

Mrs. Spears, a resident of Opelousas, died at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Doctor's Hospital of Opelousas. Elaine will be remembered for her gentle spirit and her faithfulness to God and her church. She loved to sew, listen to Gospel music, and cook for her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Pat DeJean of Opelousas; Bobbie Hillman of Memphis, TN; and a son, Warren Allen Spears, Jr. of Thibodaux, LA. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a very special sister-in-law, Minnie Young.

Mrs. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents: Jefferson and Nettie Bodemuller Young; her husband, Warren Allen Spears, Sr.; a brother, Jeff Young; and a sister, Rose Young Doucet.

Visiting hours will be observed on Saturday, September 8, 2007, from 6 p.m. -9 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Sunday, visitation will continue from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the funeral home.
