Elaine Guidry Laviolette

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Elaine Guidry Laviolette, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in the St. John Chapel in Lewisburg. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Lewisburg. Father Blair Sabaricos will celebrate the Mass.

Mrs. Elaine was a native of Church Point and a long-time resident of Opelousas. She died at the age of 55 on Monday, April 14, 2008, at 5:10 p.m. at her residence. She was the manager of the Super 10 Retail stores for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Maurice Laviolette of Opelousas; two daughters: Lisa Laviolette Shaw and husband, Troy of Carencro; and Rita Laviolette Smalley of Scott; one brother, Tony Guidry and wife, Audrey of Opelousas; sister-in-law, Maudry Laviolette Perrodin and husband, Gerald of Branch; four grandchildren: Ashley Courvelle; Meagan Courvelle; Bradley Shaw; and Westley Shaw; two nephews: Shane Perrodin and James Guidry; one niece, Deanna Guidry; two godchildren: James Guidry and Liz Guidry Leger.

Mrs. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph Bob Elton Guidry and Leota Marie Jagneaux Guidry; and her father-in-law, Maurice Laviolette; and her mother-in-law, Aglia Marks Laviolette.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be James Guidry, Troy Shaw, Brian Leger, Timmy Guidry, Shane Perrodin, Dillion Perrodin, Daniel Guidry, and Elton Hanks.

A Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
