Elaine Bellow, a beloved spirit born on April 13, 1951, in the quaint town of Lewisburg, Louisiana, drifted into eternal peace on January 24, 2025, at the Opelousas General Health System.

From the gentle ripples of the bayou to the sun-drenched afternoons spent fishing, Elaine found solace and delight in the simple pleasures of life. She could often be found casting her line into the water, sharing stories and creating memories with those fortunate enough to share her company.

Family held an indelible place in her heart. A steadfast presence, Elaine treasured the time spent with her loved ones, which shaped the essence of her character. Her home was a gathering place filled with warmth, where family and friends were welcomed with open arms. She had a remarkable way of making each person feel special, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.

Elaine’s life was a vibrant symphony of connection, laughter, and unyielding love. While she has departed from this earthly realm, the echoes of her spirit resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy of genuine kindness and joyous camaraderie will forever illuminate the lives of those who were fortunate enough to call her a friend, a mother, a sister, or simply, “family.”

Elaine is survived by her sons, James Keith Theriot and Steven Kiley Theriot and wife Felicia; sister, Jane Ryder; grandchildren, Sadie Bowling, Savannah Lynn Theriot, Cameron Johnson, Skyler Elizabeth Theriot and Anthia Fite; great-grandchildren, Ethan Fite and Branson Theriot.

Elaine is preceded in death by her husbands, Tensay Bellow, Jr. and Joseph Richard Theriot; parents, Ivy and Lula Babineaux; brother, Herbert Babineaux; sisters, Betty Cormier and Mary Champagne.

As we bid farewell to Elaine, we remember her not with sorrow, but with gratitude; a reminder to embrace life's simplicity, to cherish the moments that matter, and to always reel in the beauty that surrounds us.
