Effie Lalonde

Port BarreFuneral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Effie Dekerlegand Lalonde. Rev. Joe Russo will officiate the services.
Effie was a native of Arnaudville, a longtime resident of Port Barre, and was currently a resident of Pecaniere. She passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at her daughters home, at the age of 71. She was a retired waitress after working at The Wheel Burger in Port Barre for many years.
She looked forward to spending time with her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, family, and friends. She was fun loving and loved to laugh. She lived her life to the fullest and cherished each moment. She loved listening to French music and dancing.
Survivors include two daughters, Sonia Barron and husband, Gary of Port Barre and Lisa Leger and husband, George Leger, Jr. of Pecaniere one step daughter, Rachael Badeaux and husband, Brent of Port Barre two step sons, Toby Lalonde and wife, Christy of Lolita, TX and Clint Lalonde and wife, Cathy of Krotz Springs one sister, Elaine Bourgeois and husband, Martin Bourgeois, Jr. of Port Barre 14 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Lalonde her son, Gordon Joseph Guillory her parents, Elus Dekerlegand and Helene Meche Dekerlegand 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Gary Barron, George Leger, Jr., Cpt. Allen Barron, Andy Bo Barron, and Dusty Barron.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, from 3 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
