Edward Martin

Port Barre-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre for Edward "Ed" James Martin. Fr. Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Port Barre.

Ed was a resident of Port Barre. He passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at his home, at the age of 77. Ed was known for his love of Treating, laying of hands (Traiteur), French music, dancing, cooking for family and friends, riding his trike and his love for his beloved dog Penny.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Clara Belle Domingue Martin of Port Barre, his loving children, Carol Marks and her husband, Gerald of Arnaudville, Melissa Kysar and her husband, Mike of Ventress, LA, and Darrell Martin and his wife, Wendy of Livingston, LA., 5 grandchildren, Jessica Domec, Brett Kysar, Ethan Martin, Zachary Blouin, and Taylor Blouin and 1 great grandchild, Kade Domec.

He was preceded in death by father, Edgar Guidry, his mother Ruby Martin, grandparents, Algie Martin, Irma Martin, brothers, Ervin Stelly, Wallace Guidry, and Calvin Guidry, sister, Lillian Boullion.

The visitation will begin on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening in the funeral home. On Friday, visitation will continue at 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Brett Kysar, Ethan Martin, Jason Domec, Jimmy Kidder, Howard Martin, and Leroy Martin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kade Domec.
