Edna Vidrine

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Mrs. Edna Mae Vidrine, on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Monsignor Russell Harrington will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas.

Mrs. Edna, age 72, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA with her family at her side.

Mrs. Edna enjoyed playing bingo and pokeno, but what she loved the most was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Joseph Wayne Vidrine; son, Ricky James Vidrine and wife, Tammy; daughter, Debbie Spencer and husband, Chris; brothers, Leroy Henry and wife, Kitty and Ray Henry and wife, Wanda; 7 grandchildren, Joshua Vidrine, Paige Spencer, C.W. Spencer, Gage Vidrine, Bailey Vidrine, Daimen Spencer and Brendan McLean, Jr.; 8 great-grandchildren, Johnathon Castille, Alyssa Turner, Liam Spencer, Kyleigh Stelly, Hannah Spencer, Summer Babin, Kevin Babin and Emily Babin.

She is preceded in death by her sons, Kenneth Roy Vidrine and Paul Allen Vidrine; parents, Clifton Henry and Dorothy Hebert Henry; and her great-grandson, Devyn Vidrine.

The family requests visitation be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited by Deacon Dwayne Joubert at 6:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Vidrine, C.W. Spencer, Gage Vidrine, Ricky Vidrine, Chris Spencer and Dan'l Stelly.
