Edna Lalonde Fontenot

Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Lalonde Fontenot, 81, will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 14, 2006, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Interment will follow in the Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas.

Father Nicky Trahan will conduct the services.

Mrs. Fontenot, a resident of Palmetto, died at 9:25 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, in the Opelousas General Health System.

Survivors include one son, Frank Hook and wife, Cheri of Port Barre; one sister, Shirley Gravois of Port Allen; 6 grandchildren and 18 grandchildren.

Mrs. Fontenot was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Hook; her second husband, Joseph Fontenot; and two sons: Curtis Hook, Jr. and Johnny Hook.

Visiting hours will be observed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. On Thursday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
