Edna Marie Devillier Eppinette

Port Barre Funeral services for Edna Marie Devillier Eppinette, 85, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2006, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial and burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.

Msgr. Romero will conduct the services.

Mrs. Eppinette, a resident of Port Barre, died at 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at her residence.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Friends Helping Friends. She was well known in the community for her wonderful and delicious canning of preserves and vegetables. She was a loving wife, and an extremely devoted and caring mother and grandmother.

Survivors include: her husband of 59 years, Mr. Eugene Pee Wee Eppinette of Port Barre; one son, Tommy Eppinette and wife, Debbie of Baton Rouge; one stepson , Donald Gene Eppinette of Port Barre; one brother, Herman Devillier and wife, Lula Mae of Port Barre; two grandchildren: Tom Eppinette, Jr. and wife, Christie of Ossining, NY; and Alisha Eppinette of Atlanta, GA; two step grandchildren: Mark Sansing and wife, Jo of San Antonio, TX; and Lynn Hawkins and husband, Joey of Amarillo, TX; and 3 step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Eppinette was preceded in death by her parents, Dess and Edia Guidroz Devillier, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Eppinette, Tom Eppinette, Jr., Donald Gene Eppinette, Joey Dess Devillier, Nolan Devillier, and Terrain Devillier.

Visiting hours will be observed on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. On Friday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests mass intentions be made in Mrs. Ednas memory or donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
