Dwight Reed

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am. on Friday October 18, 2013, at the St. Landry Catholic Church for Dwight D. Reed. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Fr. James Brady will celebrate the Mass.
Dwight was a native of Opelousas and a resident of Lafayette, he passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his home.
Dwight was a member of the State and the St. Landry Bar Association, and a member of the Opelousas Elks Lodge 1048. Dwight enjoyed his daily walks, watching LSU football, practing law, and reading. He graduated from OHS in 1966, and USL in 1970, from LSU in 1973 in law school where he received his Juris of Doctorate of Law degree.

Survivors include his son, David Michael Reed and his wife, Brandi of Port Barre, his former wife, Contance Reed Reed of Opelousas, his sisters, Beverly Simms and her husband, Art of Houston, TX., and Judy Larriviere and her husband, Richard of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death his parents, Ebon and Hazel Marcantel Reed.
A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home on Thursday evening.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 9:30 a.m.
