Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Dudley Soileau, age 70, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2007, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Ronde.

Msgr. Melancon will officiate the Mass.

Mr. Dudley was a native of Port Barre and a resident of Opelousas. He died at 1:41 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2007, in the Opelousas General Health System. He loved working in his shop and worked on heavy equipment as a diesel mechanic for many years. He was also a member of the National Guard. He enjoyed watching football especially the Saints. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gilda Bertrand Soileau of Opelousas; two sons: Michael K. Soileau and wife, Connie of Carencro; and Bryan Soileau and wife, Jessica of Opelousas; four daughters: Sharon K. Soileau of New Orleans; Susan S. Miller and husband, Paul F. Miller of New Orleans; Donna S. Miller and husband, John of Opelousas; and Stacie Miller and husband, Chris of Sunset; one sister, Mary Lou Benoit of Port Barre; 10 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters.

Mr. Dudley was preceded in death by his parents: Homer J. and Elsie Kimball Soileau.

Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, from 3-10 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Thursday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
