Dudley Macip

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial for Dudley Macip will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016, in the Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Fr. Austin Leger, brother-in-law of Dudley, will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
Dudley was a resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Opelousas General Health System at the of age of 88. Dudley was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Queen of Angels Council. He worked for Schlumberger for 33 years before his retirement. Mr. Dudley served his Country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He loved being with his family and many friends and is going to be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Mrs. Thelma Leger Macip of Opelousas, one son, Marvin Macip and his wife Pam of Opelousas, five grandchildren, Stacey Macip and husband, John Caraway of Lafayette, Rachel Junot and her husband, Cody of Lafayette, Laura Martien of Lafayette, James Martien and his wife, Nicole of Erath, and Seth Martien and his wife, Michel of Lafayette, 12 great grandchildren; 10 nephews and 12 nieces.

He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Aldia Pitre Macip, son, Glenn Macip, daughter-in-law, Lisa Macip four brothers, Alvin, Dennis, Curley, Obey, two sisters, Ethel S. and Lula L.
Pallbearers will be Cody Junot, John Caraway, Dennis Leger, Todd Miller, Floyd "Jim" Campbell, Leroy "T-Boy" Carrier. Alternate will be Darrell Doucet.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night.
