Dudley Fontenot

OpelousasFuneral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Dudley Fontenot. Msgr. Paul Metrejean will conduct the Catholic Funeral service.
Mr. Dudley was a native of Belaire Cove, La. and a longtime resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013, at Opelousas General Health System, at the age of 85. Mr. Dudley was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus, Lodge 3409. Mr. Dudley worked for Sunbeam Bread Company for many years and then opened his own business, Fontenots Conoco Station. Mr. Dudley enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and cooking with his family and many friends. Mr. Dudley is going to be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Survivors include sons: Donald Fontenot and wife Barb of Omaha, Nebraska, Bookie Fontenot and wife Kathy of Opelousas daughters, Barbara Fontenot Richard and husband Lucien, Jr. of Leonville, La., Sharon Fontenot DeVillier and husband Lenny of Opelousas sister, Berna Fontenot Courville of Opelousas brotherinlaw, Jules Courville of Lake Charles sisterinlaw, Agnes Courville of Lake Charles grandchildren, Elizabeth Cassano, Hollie Guillory, Nicholas Fontenot, Debra Guidroz, Melissa Taylor, Christina Arnold, Lucien Richard III, Kellie Flynn, Kerry Fontenot, Joey Buckley fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Mr. Dudley was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Eula Mae Courville Fontenot parents, Lezy and Avia Lee Fontenot brother, Allen Fontenot sisters Harriet Fontenot, Lula Fontenot grandsons, Lenny Paul DeVillier, Jr., Jim Buckley and great grandson, Devon Richard.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, December 1, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m.
