Douglas James Fulop

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Douglas James Fulop will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Port Barre. Rite of Committal and interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Doug was a native of Panama and a longtime resident of Port Barre. He passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at his home at the age of 74. He was retired from working as a Budget Rates Analyst for the Panama Canal Commission. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who served his country.
He was also a member of the Panama Canal Society and the Elks Club - Republic of Panama. He enjoyed reading, watching old movies, spending time outdoors doing yardwork, and spending time with his family, as well as helping them with everyday chores. Doug also enjoyed to travel.
Survivors include four daughters, Kimberly Osborne of McLean, Virginia; Allison Andrus and husband, Leon of Port Barre; Caryn Fulop and Lisa Fulop, both of Port Barre; one brother, Michael Fulop and wife, Kathy of St. Petersburg, Florida; and five grandchildren, Cole Osborne and Kate Osborne of McLean, VA; Lauren Fulop of Port Barre; and Jaylon Andrus and Adalynn Andrus of Port Barre; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline E. Reaux Fulop; parents, Stephen and Lucille Fulop; and Dalys Fulop; and his grandparents, Michael and Bridget Fulop; Ricardo and Rosada Carles; and Nels and Anna Markuson; and sister, Roseanne "Pinky" Fulop Garcia.
The visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre.
A Rosary service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning in the funeral home.
