Opelousas-Funeral service for Dorothy Bihm Linn will be on Saturday, July 2, 2016 in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the St. Landry Cemetery.
Dorothy Bihm Linn of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Dorothy was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on August 10, 1933 to John Abe Bihm and Octavia Marie DeVillier Bihm. Dorothy spent all of her early years in her hometown. After graduating high school she moved to Midland, Texas where she married Robert Bruce Linn. They eventually made their home in Edmond, Oklahoma where they lived for the rest of their lives. Dorothy devoted her life to her husband, Bob and their three children, Bobby, Susan and Karen, grandchildren, and beloved pets. Dorothy was an artist and enjoyed writing, painting and wood carving. Also an incredible Cajun cook, no one ever left her home without enjoying a wonderful meal. She had a remarkable spirit, guided by her deep Catholic faith. Always loving, always forgiving, she saw the best in everyone and was very loyal to those she loved. Dorothy loved her faith and made the world a better place by her simple, authentic self and provided a perfect example of how we should be. We are all blessed to have known her, she has made us better people. She will greatly missed.
Dorothy is precede in death by her parents, Abe and Octavia Bihm, brothers, Lawrence Moore, Warren Moore, Thomas Moore, Joe Moore, and Abe Bihm, Sr. sisters, Lucille Bobby LaJack, Alma Bihm Metz and Odena Bihm Robbins, son-in-law, Rick Cox, and husband, Robert Bruce Linn, Sr.
Survivors are her son, Robert Bruce Linn, Jr., of Edmond Oklahoma, daughters, Susan Lee Lin Cox, of Chandler, Oklahoma, Karen Linn Hetrick and husband, Clinton of Stillwater, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Jess Cox and wife, Crystal, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Sydney Cox, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Ali Hetrick Weatherfield and husband, Seth of Telluride, Colorado, Grant Forest Hetrick, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Gabrielle DeVillier Hetrick, of Durango, Colorado, great grandchildren, Aiden Jess and Steely Renee Cox of Edmond, Oklahoma, a host of beloved nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to her best friend Buddy Chandler for her extraordinary love and care in her final days. No one could ask for a better friend than Buddy, she truly defines the meaning of what friendship is.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Donald Bihm, Tommy Bihm, Mike Bihm, and Joey Bihm, grandsons, Jess Cox and Grant Hetrick and son-in-law Clinton Hetrick.
