Donna Morris

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Donna Morris at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, in the St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville, Fr. Darren Eldridge will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Leo Mausoleum.

Donna, age 66, a resident of Opelousas, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones. Donna loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Donna enjoyed listening and dancing to cajun music.  Donna was very family orientated and generous to everyone.

She is survived by husband, Michael Morris, Sr. of Opelousas, son, Nicholas T. Degueyter and wife, Wendy of Leonville, daughter, Krystal Degenhardt and husband, Andrew of Leonville, brothers, Merlin Stelly and wife Mary of West Wego, LA., Harold Stelly and wife, Paula of Leonville,  Daniel Stelly of Burkville, TX.,  sisters, Gloria Daily  of Leonville and Jo Anne Briscoe and husband, Don of Leonville, her grandchildren, Alysse Degueyter, Brayden Degueyter, Corine Degenhardt, and Daphne Degenhardt.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Corine Stelly, brothers Irving,  Bobby, and Eli  Stelly, sister, Helen Reed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. till 10:30 a.m.
