Donna Deville

Port Barre-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Donna Lynn Scruggins Deville at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Donna was a native of Opelousas and longtime resident of Port Barre. She passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at her home at the age of 56. She was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, camping, and spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Gerald A. Deville of Port Barre; one son, Kyle Deville and wife, Amanda of Picayune, MS; two daughters, Brandy Deville and Jamie Deville, both of Port Barre; her parents, Joseph Scruggins and Betty Israel Scruggins of Port Barre; one brother, Barry Scruggins and wife, Sherry of Port Barre; two grandchildren, Mason Deville and Lacey Perkins; mother-in-law, Barbara Rose of Opelousas; four brothers-in-law, Mark Deville and wife, Sue of Port Barre; Kenny Deville and wife, Vanessa of Port Barre; Mike Deville and wife, Cathy of Port Barre; and Randy Deville and wife, Michelle of Prairie Ronde. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline "Cricket" Scruggins Fontenot; father-in-law, Leonce Deville; maternal grandmother, Andrea LeBlanc; maternal grandfather, Eddie Israel, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Lillian Lahaye Scruggins; and paternal grandfather, Preston Scruggins, Sr.
The visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. On Wednesday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Chett Deville, Mark Deville, Aaron Deville, Kenney Deville, Rene Benoit, and Drew Prescott. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Scruggins and Mason Deville.
