Dolphie Stelly

Opelousas A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel for Dolphie J. Stelly. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Rev. Deacon Sammy Diesi will officate the service.

Dolphie retired from Schlumberger Well Service after 37 years. He was member of the Knight of Columbus at St. Landry Catholic Church. He served as an Usher at Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

Dolphie was a native Arnaudville and resident of Lafayette. He was born August 15, 1918. He passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at his home at the age of 95.

Survivors include children, John Ray Stelly and wife, Beverly Frey Stelly of Metairie, Harry James Stelly and wife, Mary EllenBubbles Foreman Stelly of Lafayette, Dale Joseph Stelly and wife, Christine Earl Stelly of Maurice, and one daughter, Dianne Marie Fields, of Lafayette, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two brothers, John Soileau, and Easton Stelly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Lafleur Stelly, his parents, John and Alice Stelly, sister, Beaula Soileau, Evelyn Fuselier, Mary Siegel, Lou Alice Hebert, brother, Robert Soileau, great grandchild, Harrison Camel.

Pallbearers will be John Ray Stelly, Jr., Harry Kip Stelly, Jr., David LeBlanc, Mark Stelly, Dale Prudhomme, Easton Stelly, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Ray Stelly and Harry James Stelly.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, August 29, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Friday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening in the funeral home.
