Divine Menard

OpelousasA Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Divine Ledoux Menard, known to many as Dee, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014, in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum with Rev. Father Greg Simien as the celebrant.
Mrs. Dee was a native of Eunice and a lifelong resident of Opelousas. She died on Monday, December 15, 2014, at Opelousas General Health System at the age of 84. She was a member of the Rosary Group, the Council on Aging group that traveled, played bingo, and visited the casino. She loved to go dancing weekly and attending the TRIAD meetings. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Leger, Sr. of Carencro two daughters, Cynthia Leger and husband, Harry of Livonia and Lisa Menard Bastian and husband, Hugh of Arnaudville 6 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren, and a devoted friend, Fred Pitre of Plaisance.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin C. Menard her parents, Claude Ledoux and Rhea Young Ledoux brothers, Leroy Ledoux, Murphy Ledoux, Lucien Ledoux, and Leopaul Ledoux and sisters, Lilly Mae Ledoux, Fannie Sittig, Inez Matte, and two younger sisters.
Pallbearers will be Johnathan Bastian, Kenneth Leger, Jr., Mike H. Leger, Deuce Leger, Craig Pinsonat, and Ronald Ledoux. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Leger, Sr., Harry Leger, Hugh Bastian, and Kane Leger.
Visiting hours will be held in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. with the Rosary Group and at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon Tom Lindsey. On Thursday, the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
