Denny Devillier

Port Barre– A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Denny Devillier on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Neil Pettit of St. Landry Catholic Church will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Port Barre.

Denny, age 85, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Carpenter House in Lafayette, surrounded by his loving family.

Denny is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Nellie Richard Devillier of Port Barre, son, Daryl J. Devillier of Picayune, Mississippi, stepson, Robert Richard of Livingston, La., daughters, Sherry Cobb of Virginia, Melissa Bond Necaise of Kiln, Mississippi, and Stacey Devillier of Mississippi, brother, H. L. Devillier of Shreveport, La., and Charles Devillier of Prairie Ronde, LA., seven grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.

Denny is preceded in death by his parents, Archile and Nellie Plaisance Devillier, brother, Thomas Devillier, sisters, Irene Bates, and infant, Julia Devillier, granddaughter, Denee Devillier.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:15 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. The rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Devillier, Robert Richard, James Artigue, Jr., Danny Necaise, Daryl Devillier, Sr., Daryl Devillier, Jr., and Leo Richard, Jr.
