Dena Muller

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Dena DeJean Muller, known to many as Putsy, age 80, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
Rev. Msgr. Keith Joseph DeRouen will celebrate the Mass. Gift bearers will be Grace Marks, Natalie Marks, and Cameron Muller. Readers will be Alison Muller Schoeffler and Olivia Muller.
Mrs. Dena was a native and a longtime resident of Opelousas. She died on Friday, June 10, 2011, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas. She was the owner and operator of Muller Real Estate for many years. She loved fishing, doing woodworking and stained glass artwork, eating crabs and crawfish, playing cards and was also the Bouree Champ. She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful and loving wife, and a very devoted mother, aunt, friend, grandmother, and greatgrandmother.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Stanley Muller and wife, Billy Jo of Washington and Scotty Muller and wife, Joni of Opelousas two daughters, Dena Lisa Roberie and husband, Gene of Ville Platte and Pat Muller and Stacy Hebert of Camas, Washington 22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Muller and her husband, Herbert Arthur Muller, helped to raise Mrs. Mullers nieces and nephews after her brother and sisterinlaw, H. B. DeJean and wife, Katherine passed away. Listed are those children: Howard C. Kyle DeJean, Shawn K. DeJean, Susan DeJean Lafleur, Julie DeJean Marks, William P. DeJean, and the late, Vita Katherine DeJean Hafeli.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Arthur Muller her parents, Howard Benjamin DeJean and Vita Marie Guilbeau DeJean and her brother, Howard B. DeJean.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, from 2 9 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Denas memory to the Opelousas Area Cerebral Palsy Clinic.
