Demond Guillory, Sr.
Port Barre, La. Funeral services for Demond Guillory, Sr, 86, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 27, 2006, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Port Barre, with burial in St. Leo's Mausoleum, Leonville, La.
Father Nicky Trahan will conduct the services.
Mr. Guillory, a resident of Bayou Courtbleau, La, died at 9:10 AM, Saturday, November 25, 2006 at his residence after a long illness.
Mr. Guillory enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and loved his cattle, horses and dogs. Mr. Guillory enjoyed the political races, especially the sheriff's races and was involved as much as he could. He especially enjoyed being with his family as much as he could; cooking dinners and suppers.
Mr. Demond served his country during WWII in the Army.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Mamie Carriere Guillory of Port Barre; sons, George Nookie Demond Guillory, Jr. and wife Barbara of Port Barre, Randy Guillory, Sr. and companion Yolanda of Port Barre; daughters; Mildred Taylor and ex-husband Roger Bookie of Port Barre, Linda Ann Guillory and companion Kenneth R. Ansley of Krotz Springs, Belinda Fontenot and husband George, Jr. of Port Barre and brother, Audrey Guillory of Leonville, La. Mr. Guillory is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
Mr. Demond was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Louis Guillory, brothers; Golbert, Raoul and Atilouis Guillory and sisters; Ezor Guillory Degranger, Armena Fontenot, Emily Martin, Agnes Thompson and one grandson Randy Guillory, Jr.
Visiting hours will be observed from 6:00 PM, Saturday, and the Funeral Home will be open until the service on Monday afternoon at 2:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Sunday night.
