Port Barre-A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Deloris "Dee" Fontenot will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Port Barre. Pastor Benji Richard will conduct the service.
Mrs. Dee, age 76, passed away on June 18, 2017. She was born on October 2, 1940. Her greatest joys in life included spending time with her family, working in her beauty shop, baking and, spreading the gospel. Mrs. Dee was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Port Barre. In hopes of educating future generations she donated her remains to science. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her 2 children, Jenny Sonnier and husband, Bobby of Port Barre, Richard Carroll and wife, Rebecca of Port Barre; her sibling, Jimmy Fontenot of Lake Charles; four step-children, Ted Fontenot and wife, Tammy of Gonzales, Tommy Fontenot and Richard of Dallas, Tony Fontenot and wife, Trudy of Grand Prairie, and Tammy Fontenot of Grand Prairie. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren that she loved dearly as well as those she loved in her church family that are to numerous to list.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raphael "Ray" Fontenot; and her parents, Virgie Soileau and Henry Fontenot.
