Debrah Prejean
Opelousas Funeral services for Debrah Prejean, age 54, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Father Louis Meloncon will officiate the services. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.
Debrah was a native and lifelong resident of Opelousas. She worked in the St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court office for 29 years, where she was a certified clerk.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she also loved being with her son and daughterinlaw, she cherished every moment with her grandchildren who were her heart. She also enjoyed spending time with her sisters who she loved dearly. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning her home which she created with Pajoe who was a very important part of her life.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many people. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived in death by her son David Speyrer and wife Valarie, and two grandchildren Dawsyn and Vivyan of Lafayette, her long time companion and fiance Ronald PaJoe Powers of Opelousas, two sisters: Jo Ann Leger and husband, Dallas of Washington, and Pat Quirk and husband, James of Erath.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Sidney Prejean and Regina Deville Prejean.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary service to be held at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Sammy Diesi.
On Thursday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
