Mallet A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Debra Ann Guillory will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014, in the St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet, LA. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery in Mallet, LA. Rev. Fr. Justin Arockiasamy, SVD and Fr. Jude Thierry, Jr. will concelebrate the Mass.
Debra Ann Guillory was born in Lafayette, LA, to the late Onezime and Mary Bellela Thibodeaux Guillory of Mallet, LA. She departed on June 18, 2014, at her home in Lawtell surrounded by her family. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church until the time of her death. Debra prided herself on being a dedicated and devoted teacher for 30 plus years, Coordinator for Black History Projects, and an afterschool teacher for the Sons and Daughters Program. She was a member of the Teachers Organization. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and cooking. Debra was a loving and cherishing wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Her family and friends will miss her wonderful strength and her energetic and optimistic spirit.
Mourning her departure are her two sons, Tyler Guillory of Los Angeles, CA and Trevor Guillory of Lawtell one daughter, Tamara Toussaint and fianc, Chris Brown of Lake Charles two grandsons, Daylin and Chance five brothers, Joseph Arnold Guillory and wife, Leticia of Rialto, CA John Kevin Guillory and wife, Mary of San Bernardino, CA Glenn Guillory and wife, Dorothy of San Diego, CA Patrick Guillory of Lawtell and Chad Guillory and wife, Christianna of Wharton, TX four sisters, Carolyn Douglas and husband, James of Lawtell Greta May and husband, Rodney of Opelousas Jennifer Thibodeaux and husband, Gary of Denham Springs Paula Jolivette and husband, Leonard of Lake Charles two sistersinlaw, Eurby Broussard of Maywood, TX and Charlene Mitchell of Houston, TX one brotherinlaw, Cleveland Broussard of Lake Charles two step children, four step grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Guillory, Sr. her parents, Onezime and Mary Bellela Thibodeaux Guillory maternal grandparents, Mary Frances Simien Thibodeaux and Winston Thibodeaux paternal grandparents, Maties and Ophelia Miller Guillory.
Pallbearers will be Gary Thibodeaux, Rodney May, Leonard Jolivette, Jude Thierry, Sr., Vashaun Rodgers, and Gerald Auzenne, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Elliott, James Douglas, Chris Brown, Julian M. Guillory, and Fr. Jude Theirry, Jr.
Visiting hours will be observed in the St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet on Monday, June 23, 2014, from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be held at 9:00 a.m. in church on Monday.
We, the family wish to express our deep and sincere gratitude to everyone who has shown love and concern during the illness and death of our loved one. Special thanks to her aunts, Priscilla Thierry and Gerda Thierry and her uncle, Jude Thierry for taking such great care of Debra during her time of need. Also the family would like to thank to Dr. Chancellor Donald and his oncology staff and the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their medical care.
